Yes.  In the older kits the intercoolers were set back a few inches so that the cowling would fit.  The problem with the turbos was solved with the Dolly Parton modification to the lower cowling.  For the upper cowling the only solution (suggested by Lancair) is to put some bulges in the appropriate places.  Not the prettiest solution, but it does work.  If you would like, I can send some photos.
