I have the Lancair optional premolded LNC2 panel with the eyeball vents centered for each occupant at the bottom of the panel. Not the newer 'flat panel', but the one with the circuit breaker subpanel tilted towards the pilot. I plan on using an 0.063" aluminum 'insert' (face sheet?) screwed to nutplates I'll install on the premolded panel, as do the shops that make your whole panel for you. I'm using the Panel Planner program to lay out the panel, and plan to send the .DXF file somewhere for laser cutting. Supposedly it will cost $100 or so for the laser cutting. 1) Lancair does not have the aluminum "inserts" (I'd call them 'face sheets') available for sale with the eyeball vent at the bottom. Has anyone had one made and what did it cost? 2) If I make this myself, is there a better way than roughing it out on a bandsaw, using a bench sander to final shape, and painstakingly filing the edges for smoothness? 3) Can this outer shape be laser cut, the way the instrument holes are? 4) The panel shape in Panel Planner has a very poor resemblance to the real panel. Does anyone have a .BMP file for the LNC2 old-style (not "flat") premolded panel? 5) What kind of paint sticks to the gelcoated premolded panel? Thanks in advance. - Rob Wolf >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LML website: http://www.olsusa.com/Users/Mkaye/maillist.html Builders' Bookstore: http://www.buildersbooks.com/lancair Please send your photos and drawings to marvkaye@olsusa.com. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
