Carl,

I'm using the Hartzell 3 blade (HC-J3YF-1RF/F7391D-3), which weighs in at 73 pounds.
I'm planning on putting the hydraulic pump in the standard position behind the co-pilot seat.

If I can place the battery near the starting motor and the battery bus, I can reduce the amount of those big, heavy cables.  Even if I need to re-add weight as balast in the tail, that would be prefered.

Does anyone have their battery on the firewall?

Worst case forward CG is no fuel and single pilot.  What propeller are
you using?  Where are you locating your hydraulic pump?

I'd really like to place my 24v battery up front on the firewall
instead
of behind the pilot's seat.  I'd even consider adding some ballast in
the tail if necessary for CG design.  I'm assuming the worst case
forward CG is full fuel and single pilot.

Has any one successfully mounted a 24v battery on the firewall in a
Legacy RG with an IO550?
