If the tire pressure is too low the inner tube sidewalls wear and spring a
leak - thus leaving you with a flat.
My airplane is biased for forward CG with an empty weight of 1200 pounds
and TK5 shocks. I use 36-40 psi in the nose and 48-50 psi in the
mains. This is consistent with many of our European counterparts.
Lancair had recommended 28-30 (nose) and 42 (mains). I believe that such
low pressures lead to flats.
