Chris,
I have a pretty good list (but not official
in any way). Approx 230 sold and ~100 flying in the US and Canada. Of the 100’ish+
not flying, it seems that approx >50% are actively being built (recent years
sales and prior slow projects). The remaining ones are a combination of
mothballed projects and/or overseas (limited visibility). Plus, at
least three have been destroyed (two in-flight, one on the ground)

group @ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Lancair_ES/
It’s free, contains thousands of historic emails specific to
the ES, has a good selection of photos, and has a list of the ES’s flying
and building that we know about (serial #, name, city/state, etc) unofficially.

p.s. Would love to hear from you directly
if you have questions and/or I’m sure some of the CA ES’ers would
help as well.

Hi Guys:
… I was wondering how many Lancair ES kits have been sold, and how many
are complete and flying?
