I also build model airplanes. Often when
attaching plastic canopies to the models, scratches appear on the canopy.
We usually sand with fine sandpaper and polish out the blemishes.
There is another way as well. Paint the
canopy with clear butyrate dope to fill the scratches and then sand and polish
out. The scratches are filled and the canopy is clear.
I suggest you test this out on a small portion of
your canopy before applying to the whole canopy.
You could also paint the canopy with urethane
clear. Caution should be advised that the paint applied will not yellow or
discolor over time due to UV rays.
