I installed mine so that when my right hand was wrapped around the throttle I could reach it with my thumb. My flap switch is spring loaded to center off when pressed down and stays in the up position when released.

Subject: [LML] Flap switch placement

I am installing the Angle of Attack instrument in my Legacy.  I am wondering where some of you installed your flap switch???

Pictures would be really nice if you have them.

Bruce,

I think Bill is looking for flap position information to send to the AOA device so the lift reserve calculation is proper for clean or dirty.

Bill,

I put a lever-armed micro switch on the linear flap motor.  The switch is activated by sensing the end of the guide rod passing by when the flap is deployed beyond the desired angle.  I will see if I can get a picture the next time I am out at the airport. Maybe this is irrelevant - I don't remember if the Legacy uses a flap extension mechanism similar to that in the 300 series Lancairs.
