Jeff,

I used a wet SIRS compass that was recommended to me.   My first 150 hours in the plane used that compass as sole means of directional control as I was waiting for my EFIS system to be shipped to me.   Very happy with it, mounts atop the glareshield and works very well.  Works much better than a vertical card compass, and doesn't take any room on the panel.
