Thanks for the input about my hard landing regarding repairs,
inspections, and landing techniques.
I tried to have the landing gear “fork”
straightened, like some of you have had done. Mine broke at the machine
shop while under pressure of only 600 lbs, according to the shop owner. See
the attached pictures. Better to break there than in landing. Lucky
for me, Lancair had one in stock. Should all be back together and flying Saturday
morning.
While I’ve got it apart I will install new axles (with
the new larger inner race to support the inner wheel bearings to keep them from
turning), new tires, new brake pads, and one new inner bearing.
