I use a product from Rural King (farm supply store) called Purple Power. I use it to remove exhaust stains (works better than anything else I ever tried), oil residue, and fuel stains (I get them on my nose wheel pant from the drain).

I have a pearl white paint with clear coat and the cleaner gets the fuel stain off even after its been there for a week or two.  Sometimes takes two or three sprays to get it but it always comes off.

Hope this helps.

This is sort of in the "Hints from Heloise" category, but does
anyone have a good way to remove fuel stains (the blue dye from 100LL)
from white paint (Imron)?  Ethanol is moderately effective if the stain
isn't too deep; acetone does nothing.
