I spoke with Ron at Performance engines. They make an extension rod that
gets pressed into the open end of the magneto drive gear. It has a bull nose
which rides in the inside surface of the magneto cover plate. They also make
a block-off plate for the unused vacuum pad and mounting brackets for the
LSE coils. The block-off plate is advisable because the vacuum drive adapter
has an oil passage that lubricates the drive gear shaft. With the drive gear
removed, that oil passage is wide open.



Thanks to all for pointing me in the right direction. The parts are now on
order. The attached picture shows what the stock magneto drive gear looks
like.
