Karen and I will arrive in Fredericksburg Thursday late afternoon.  Right now the real issue is when and where we're having the dinner.  My cell is 719-331-2388.

I found these restaurant reviews on the Internet....

Dining in Fredericksburg (and being satisfied) can be a bit tricky.  While there are lots of places to go, there are really only a handful of places that are worth their salt.  Here is a crash course for anyone planning a trip there.

- BEST - *****

Hill Top Cafe ($$$) - Nostalgic, tasty, and unique.  A memorable dining experience.  Try to catch Johnny Nicholas playing!

Navajo Grill ($$$) - Typical white table cloth semi-upscale dining.  You probably have a place like this at home.  Good food!

The Auslander ($-$$) - Casual atmosphere.  Good food, beer, and service.  Fredericksburg's best biergarten, beer, and live music!

The Peach Tree Tea Room ($-$$) - A local favorite for years, this quaint eatery offers lighter fare, consistently good food and service.

- NEW and NOTABLE - ***

Kelly's Cafe on Main (former location of Alfredo's) ($-$$) Great American food with Santa Fe flair.

 - HONORABLE MENTION - ****

Cotton Gin, Friedhelm's Bavarian Inn, Bonterra, Rather Sweet, Hondo's on Main, Bejas Grill &  Cantina, The Nest, Alamo Springs Cafe

- AVERAGE - ***

Silver Creek, Rathskeller, Cuvee (closed), Pasta Bella, August E's, Engel's Del, El Maguey, Cranky Frank's BBQ

- BELOW AVERAGE - **

Der Lindenbaum, Catfish Haven, Altdorf Biergarten, Silver Creek, Race Barn

- DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT - *

Wheeler's, Winslow's, Fredericksburg Brewery,  Andy's, Mamacitas (chain), Chili's, Double Jade Island, Peggy Sue's (closed)
