LPD is now repaired and flying again after the nasty gash in her belly from slipping off the jacks. The next step is to obtain more suitable jacks then those I currently have. I would appreciate suggestions on well priced and well constructed jacks for the 320 which I can obtain by mail order. Thanks Gerard
[Good news about having your airplane repaired... bad news that you
had
to repair it in the first place. You know, if you go to the LML
website and checkout the "tools & jacks" page, there's a
dimensioned drawing that I did of the absolute BEST 320/360 aircraft
jack designed by Jens Jensen, a link to the photo of which is right
above the drawing link. You can take that drawing to a local
fabricator and have one built using the dimensions shown there, the
only one you'll need to supply is the distance between your existing
jack points. I could build one for you for about $350 but I'm afraid
that the shipping fees to Oz would outweigh the cost of the jack
itself... it's not very heavy at about 35 pounds, but it is bulky. Once built you can use scissors jacks to provide the lifting action, or bottle jacks (what I use) that are available from places like Harbor Freight for very little money are an excellent option as well. I hope this helps. <Marv> ]
