Hello Cliff,
The definitive answer to this question should come
from Lancair, probably Tim Ong. However, as a 320 builder I can say with
certainty that I would NOT use the rudder mounting "bars" to support the weight
of the airframe. The bars are imbedded in high density foam. They seem to
be adequate for their intended purpose but you would probably be applying forces
well in excess of what they were designed for and in directions that they would
never see as rudder mounts. An easier paint job is not worth the
possibility of a structural failure.

Hi
Can anybody tell me whether the rudder mounting
"bars" on the fuselage of the 360 can be used for an aft attachment point for
a rotational device to facilitate spray painting of the fuselage? The engine
mounting points on the firewall will be used for the forward
mounting.
Regards
Cliff
