Why did he take off down wind? Is that a one way strip?
Cameron park offers uphill with more asphalt and no huge obstructions, or downhill with big hill in front.
In the downhill direction, the last many hundred feet are beyond the displaced threshold going the other direction.
In my cessna, I would have taken off downhill. I'm not a bonanza driver so I can't comment on what to do there.
