A short time ago I conveyed a story to the LML of how my newly acquired 360
was valued at $475,000 by my friendly assessor. I quickly sent in all the
paperwork requested that showed it was not a IV PT!
I was surprised when one of the aircraft evaluators called me to ask some
questions about the airplane.
As she was talking to me she said she was looking at a picture of it taken
last October. That puzzled me what picture she was looking at. I
went home and did an N number search on my tail #. To my surprise a lot of
information came up. And not just the FAA.gov stuff!
My picture showed up on some web site called Irishairpictures.com.
Some photographer snapped a picture of it while I was at an airshow and that
happened to be the one the tax lady was looking at. The other surprising
thing was that every email I wrote to the LML that had my tail # with my
signature also showed up, obviously from the archives. I searched on a few
other random tail #'s that members list with their email and there's plenty of
information on all of them!! Especially when people on the builders list
show budgets and $$ spent!
So I guess this is just a friendly reminder, if you don't want to show it
to the world, be careful what you write. Unfortunately, there isn't much I
can do about those crazy poparazzi!
