About Advanced Flight Systems.
For the last two years at Oshkosh I was going to toss down the 8K for AFS's
dual 10" system. I have been impressed with their EFIS screens, etc. BUT... for
the last two years they have promised functions they've never delivered on. Not
so much with the engine monitors but with the flight monitors. Two years ago:
GPS, Terrain, HIS, Airspace, on , on , on...... Well, all that is still
promiseware. While other EFIS makers are going beyond that AFS still makes
promises... To bad, it's a nice system but I'm sure they will never catch up.
I've never had a problem with
EI but this panel change will be a dual EFIS system. Not allot of choices but
enough to make some decisions, and more coming out all the time. SERVICE AND
SUPPORT IS THE KEY!!!!

Not the first time I've heard of support problems,
specifically the lack thereof, at Vision Micro since JPI acquired them.
If I were shopping for a new engine monitor I would look at Advanced
Flight Systems or Electronics International.
