JP,
I have the XP-400 in my small tail
360, and I use quite a bit of right rudder during during the initial
stages of the takeoff roll. With any amount of left crosswind, I also
have to tap the right brake once or twice to keep my tracking straight.
It's not unmanageable at all, but it does require attention.
I wonder if you have some aligment
issues with your main wheels. How is tracking during taxi? I might have
the same issue during taxi, as I have to poke the right brake every so
often. However, I don't have major issues on takeoff and landing as you
seem to have.
I use flap for takeoff; I motor
them down to be even with a fully deflected aileron. I have not tried a
takeoff with no flaps.
I'm surprised that the prevoius
owner is of no help to you. This is one of the best communities out
here, so I'm surprised. Keep asking questions and we'll all try and
help ya.
