Does anybody know how to adjust the FPM number for altitude? I'm
assuming that the parachute would descend slower at sea level than 5,000
feet.
I still think the real issue on the Evolution is that the chute would rip
from the airframe at high speeds and you would end up descending much faster
than 1,500 FPM. BRS has a list of possible situations where the chute
would be deployed and most of them would not allow control of the aircraft to
slow it down before deployment. Why not install two parachutes, one to
slow the plane down, and the big one to get you down safely!
