There is no interface between the Garmin and the Chelton to share any data at all. They are stand alone and have their own subscriptions. Other than the possibility to swap radio frequencies. There certainly is no way to interface the Garmin and its WAAS system and use it to display on the Chelton. Therefore if his 530 is upgraded to WAAS then he is legal to fly using the garmin as a stand alone system. Every 28 days I update my Garmin and my Chelton with separate memory cards and separate data. Bryan J.
