NTSB has aircraft impounded and Continental has the
engine.
I have gotten away with pasture landings before in
my 52 yr flying but the LIV has 20K more to dissipate.
There was an explosion and smoke in the engine
compartment which led me to a fast decent and less time selecting a landing
site.
