Don,
I have one of those. O-320 sumps are deeper than a O-235. If
using a carburetor, the O-320 carburetor is also bigger and deeper than the
O-235 carburetor. With these issues, along with exhaust and alternator
clearance issues, cutting and lowering the bottom half of the bottom cowl
is likely.

For those of you who have installed Lycoming 320
