Hi Jeffery,
I considered this at length also and decided to use just one nav and one com antenna with the splitter and diplexer. I do not plan on flying hard IFR in my Legacy and therefore can't justify the redundancy + extra drag + extra work. Either one could be added later if my needs change. Besides, handheld GPS and handheld COM radio are already pretty good backup and they have there own power supply.
