Dom:

I have the same squeal in my Lightspeed headsets. Today I troubleshot the squeal and found that the Chelton intensity control caused the squeal. When the intensity is the brightest – no squeal. When either EFIS is turned down to a lower intensity it seems the squeal is picked up by the SL15 and put into the headsets. I had heard the squeal intermittantly and it seemed it would come and go, now I think I know why!

By the way my squeal was just audible over the other noise while flying, but very audible while on the ground with no motor or wind noise.

Hmm – Had a very loud and irritating feedback type squeal develop in my Lightspeed 3G ANR headset today.

Have had it happen before, and wondered if it might be a highly sensitive mike licking up something from the surrounding area be it wind noise or whatever.

Volume down doesn’t reduce it and switching off the IC doesn’t affect it.

Any suggestion as to what it might be please?

Cheers
