It is important to understand WHY.  The gas IS cooler near the TIT probe than it is near the EGT probe.  That is a fact of physics.  The reading is not... for the reason you just explained--the differing refractory times on the probes.

I haven't talked to one tsio-550 driver that has cooler indicated Turbine Inlet Temps than indicated EGT's.
One explanation given is that the EGT probe situated in a dedicated pipe sees one exhaust event every 2 revolutions while the TIT probe sees 3.
