The radial for the second VOR can be selected and appears on the SL30 display itself. So, this unit kills two seagulls with one stone. On the subject of comms, I'll be flying initially with the SL30 and a hand held. I'll hold off buying the Apollo GX60 GPS/COM until the GPS side of this unit is approved for precision approaches. ps... Just finished building the µENCODER from Rocky Mountain Instruments. In addition to all its other features, with a couple of keystrokes you can program a precise airspeed for the gear warning trigger which will activate a warning light at half second intervals as well as an audio warning in the headset if you happen to be visually impaired.
