Regarding my original posting on this subject, I was unable to locate a
military surplus portable oxygen (bailout) bottle but my thanks to all the
listees that offered comments.
However, I did locate a dual bailout bottle package that was surplus from an
ejection seat. The nice feature is that this unit will supply 2 people with
the 10 minute oxygen required by FAR 91.211(b)(i) for flight above FL 250,
assuming , of course, that we can ever get 2 people above FL 250.
Anyway, another nice feature is this package comes with a High Altitude
Oxygen Regulator, which is a small package attached to the 2-bottle emergency
oxygen supply by a short hose.
Is anyone on the list familar with a High Altitude Oxygen Regulator, Part #
F2400-8, made by the Firewel Co of Buffalo, NY., which I do not believe
exists any longer. It has an outlet port for Mask and one for Suit and has
an inlet hose for the bailout bottle package and another hose for what I
think is a connection to the aircraft's oxygen supply.
Any help would be appreciated. Bill Hogarty N499R
