I for one am very interested in whether Lancair is moving anywhere and
if they are not, why is the location and format of the Fly-In changing?

The rumor of relocation to Texas has been circulating for over a year.
Lancair (and Columbia) are in the Bend area only because Lance was
there.  Plants move to reduce costs (tax abatements etc.), tap a labor
base, or entice customers.  I think the high desert and the people in
Redmond are great, but if the gang could build a stronger company in
Texas then that's where they should go, and that is where I'll go for
pieces-parts that I need and the occassional fly-in.  On the other hand
I'll have work done on my plane where the talented and experienced
builder support people are located and for me that is still Redmond.
Chances are that's where they will remain so I'll still be making that
trip to the left coast.
