I used a baby blue colored leather and have had no reflective distortion.

I built my GalStar with a mediym brown glareshield to match the
interior.  To aggravate the situation I used chrome grommets arounf the
defrost openings.  And the result is what everyone says - reflected
distractions.  My ES-P has a flat black cover.  Hotter in temp and not
cooler in appearance, but way more functional.  Robert M. Simon
