Has anyone come up with a simple system for a "gear up" warning horn? I seem to be more forgetful the older I get. In all the discussions I don't remember this subject. I really appreciate all the input I have recieved from the mailing list in the past. This is a great resource. Thanks, Dan Reagan IVP 400+ hours [More than just an aural gear warning... http://www.advanced-flight-systems.com/Products/AOA/aoa.html. Jim Frantz (Lancair 360, originator of the Lancair Network News) invented and then marketed this instrument for a number of years, then sold the company to Advanced several years ago. Anyway, in addition to the AOA display the instrument includes aural stall and gear warnings. The stall warning is based on actual angle of attack measured at the wing, the gear warning is airspeed based... set it for your desired gear down speed and as soon as you decelerate through it the warning goes off. Lowering the gear clears the warning. <Marv>
