John,
What's this - unnecessary PC?
You may think you have gone too far but you still didn't go
there fast enough.
Most races are subject to a
predictable trash-talk schedule:
Before the race: Boasting, lying, misrepresenting capabilities,
excessive taunting and other anti-social behaviors usually conducted at a bar
the night before or over the internet for weeks before the race.
During the race: Poor use of the race frequency by misrepresenting winds
aloft, false position reporting, yelling Whee! when passing, etc.
After the race: Whining, complaining, making excuses (Cub's motto - Wait'll
next year!) and other goofy claims, usually made at a bar and later made over
the internet.
The only thing you should ever apologize for is not running WOT and max
RPM.

PS: Trash talk is encouraged.
