Berni,  I know of several people who’ve added a ventral fin much like the one posted.  I hope some of them might give their experience.  There is one solution I’ve seen pictures of incorporates vortex generators mounted on each side of the vertical stabilizer.  It’s currently being flown by a very experienced Lancair flyer.  He actually flying with both the vortex generators and the ventral fin for about 6 months now I’d guess.  I’ve been told the difference is “profound”.

Subject: [LML] Lancair IV turbine yaw solutions?

I am going through flight tests following my conversion from an IO550 to a Walter turbine in my Lancair IV.  Can anyone offer feedback on their experience with adverse yaw on a turbine?  Have any Lancair IV turbine owners modified their tail in an attempt to address yaw?
