I fly a L IV not pressurized with a TSIO 550,
it would seem
that as you go higher cooling drag becomes
more of an issue, so to optimize performance I would want to
get
cooling drag down as much as possible at my
critical
altitude. The reason for the cowl flaps would be to
keep
the engine cool enough to get you
there?.
