Just give you my two cents. I have moved the pump three times and found that the only way I can avoid fuel starvation when changing tanks is to put the fuel pump under the floor boards on the co-pilot side. This means putting the pump on its side, but it has been working great for two years. Since I moved it to the lower location, I have had no incidents of fuel starvation.

Looking for pros and cons of different locations for the fuel pump.
a) Manual specified location on co-pilot side fuselage
b) Between the exhaust tunnel and the nose wheel tunnel on co-pilot side floor.
I would think it would be quieter, but warmer on the floor.
