My friend has a Legacy with dual Light Speed ignitions. Since he's had them
he's lost both controllers and now it's burning out coils, two in two weeks.
He wants to replace them all but Klaus gets $85 each for the little coils.
He's looking to find them local or perhaps use something else.

Not enough information.  LSE documentation and service bulletins discuss power and switching requirements.  If those conditions are met, the system works well.
