My friend has a Legacy with dual Light Speed ignitions. Since he's had them
he's lost both controllers and now it's burning out coils, two in two weeks.
He wants to replace them all but Klaus gets $85 each for the little coils.
He's looking to find them local or perhaps use something else.

[I don't know if there's anything particularly magical about Klaus's twin coil packs, but $85 for something that weighs only 5 ounces and is designed to go with his system doesn't sound horribly expensive.  You can purchase a twin-tower MSD coil pack that also puts out 40kv for about $50-55 (http://www.msdignition.com/coil_blaster_9_8224.htm) but I'll bet it's going to weigh quite a bit more than 5 oz, and you don't know if it's compatible with Klaus's controllers.  You can also check out places that sell motorcycle coil packs (lots of v-twins out there) but there aren't that many with that kind of output... maybe Accel or Crane?  At any rate, if you could find out the primary and secondary resistances on his coils it would make shopping for alternatives a bit easier, as those specifications are pretty readily available for most of the aftermarket units out there.  FWIW.   <Marv>   ]
