Thanks for the clarification Walter, I couldn't tell you what those numbers represent as far as fuel load, I just did a couple searches on the net and found the max GTOW bomb load. This could be inflated as well as the source was "just another aviation site", however the two numbers came from the same site.. [I think]. Regardless, the point being that the B-17 was the larger a/c.. The scale of things would dictate in and of itself that the Mosquito couldn't lift what a B-17 could.

My understanding of the B-24 was that it was "precision bombing" in its day, once they got those Radar Bomb sights. I don't know to much about it really, just a comment or two I've read over the years.

At the end of it all, I'm just glad that what was done, was done.. I'm a free man today due to the willingness of others who stepped forward to maintain the freedom which we do know today. I don't think civilians such as myself will ever "know" what they went through to resolve what was a pretty bad situation.

Anyway, this has kinda digressed from the original thread :-)
