Why do you want to go back to NPT? Since you're using aluminum
tubing, you'll probably want something with a 37 deg. flare also to make it easy
to attach, in which case something like this should work.
This is Aeroquip part # FBM-3156 (also available in -6 ). I found
this one at Summit Racing, but any racing parts store (and even
some regular auto parts stores) can probably get it for you.

Subject: [Norton AntiSpam] [LML] Bulkhead
Fitting Challenge
OK hardware experts --- here is a challenge.
Legacy construction manual page 26-26 specifies bulkhead fitting
2240-6-8S for the gascolator through the firewall. 3/8" male NPT on
the engine side, with 37 degree flare inside the firewall. The only
problem with this fitting is that it is difficult to run an aluminum tube
directly into the fitting at 90 degrees (without making a relatively large 90
degree bend in the tubing). And I don't know of a 90 degree AN
fitting that will adapt from flare to NPT. One solution might be to use
flexible SS/teflon hose with a 90 degree fitting, but I would prefer to use
aluminum tubing.
What I think I need is a steel bulkhead fitting with 3/8" NPT on
both ends. Can anybody give me a part number and source
for such a fitting?
Thanks in advance for any light you can shed on this issue.
