The recent discussion of flying a IV with no fuel in one wing tank and full
fuel in the other caused me to wonder about the nature of the problem. So
long as the ailerons could counter the imbalance at landing speed and still have
enough control left to respond to wind gusts, etc., it seems like the only issue
(at least the only issue I can think of) is the additional drag from having the
ailerons deflected more than normal.
For my education, what's the aerodynamic problem that causes one to advise
against it? I'm not arguing, just seeking to learn.

Legacy #257, now flying! (Well, it's not flying right now,
as in at this very moment, but you know what I mean.)
