I embedded a trim device on my left aileron (320 with large tail). It's much, much smaller than the one on the elevator -- I'm guessing 2" by 6". It's activated by side to side motion on the control stick hat switch. It looks okay (far better, in my opinion, than the things tacked on the the trailing edge of the aileron). It works like a charm, but it's only rarely needed. I mounted it mid aileron. It's made of the little section that I cut out of the aileron.

My opinion (now that I've finally installed the thing): Elevator trim -- essential; Rudder trim -- nearly essential, well worth the trouble; Aileron trim -- at least the side to side function of the hat switch does something now, but I didn't really need it.

My ailerons were closed out by the factory as part of the fast build and
they installed the hinge for the aileron trim.  I'm thinking about removing  that
setup and creating an embedded system similar to the elevators.
