What I have noticed across a variety of carbed engines is that once you find the optimal carb temperature for a particular engine and installation, it works for most all of the engines in that fleet, winter, summer, spring and fall.  Art, have you identified your optimal carb temp?

I have a O 540 that I run LOP, if you will add some Carb
Heat it will help smooth the engine out. You will need to
experiment to see how much Carb Heat to use
