for skip slater,  i am not sure that had avemco insured your plane , they would cover the first 10 hours.
in june/01 i had insurance , full coverage on a iv. the restrictions were that the plane had to be re-inspected by an approved lancair rep , test flown by an approved rep , the pilot had to checked out by the rep and the plane was not covered for hull during the first 10 hours.
there must be a better company out there to give you the insurance you require.....
