Greetings,

I think I might be in the first group to receive the Pinpoint stuff = since=20 D2AV closed.  I'm not done yet, but here are some things I've = learned that=20 might be helpful:

1.  The recommended GPS antenna is the Comant = CI-420-220.  I do=20 not believe that it is included in the Pinpoint hardware from = Chelton. =20

2.  The SmartMedia card is inserted into the Chelton IDU with = the gold=20 side down and towards the nose of the airplane.  This is different = from the=20 instructions I have.  When inserted correctly, the entire card is = inside=20 the IDU and there is a tiny unlabeled "eject" button to the right = of the=20 card.  (Lucky for me, the "eject" button ejects the card, not the=20 pilot.)

3.  The SmartMedia card must be formatted on a computer before = inserting it into the IDU.  Format for FAT (FAT 16, not FAT = 32).  This=20 is different from the instructions I have.

I can't thank the people at Chelton enough for picking up the ball = and=20 providing such outstanding support to us "orphans" from = D2AV.
