Yes, we are talking about the same
thing. I received several valuable answers....thanks to all. Good
time to point out the value of this list. Come to think of it, maybe
someone's POH just may have something I didn't think of. I could become
cynical, but I won't.

Craig: I am not sure if we are referring to the same thing,
but in the mid 90's the factory modified the mixer box to include a Cabin
Shut-off valve which was cable operated. It was meant as an emergency way
to cut off airflow into the cabin from the engine in the event of a catastrophic
turbine or engine failure leading to hot oil/toxic fumes/other nasties entering
the cabin. It's use at high altitude would obviously mean you would not maintain
pressurization, but that would be down on the list of priorities at just that
moment (still something to keep in mind). So, I have mine right there below the
throttle quadrant with a big red knob on it--and hopefully will never use
it...
