There's only one FBO on the field, and they were very friendly, even towed my plane to a parking spot with their tractor. They have (or at least had) a flight planning room with internet and weather, and you can get your clearance from either the FSS or Approach (I forget which) while on the field using your radios. Brookings is a college town with most of the popular fast food places and some family restaurants, and I hear they have a Super-Mega Walmart now, so it's not as much of cow town as you might think (although there are plenty of them in the surrounding areas).
