The brake line fix using SS Tube is fairly painless.
Put the plane on jacks and retract the gear to the point
the gear is in the trailing position. Remove the wheel assembly, remove the Nylaflow tube. It has been a couple of
years but I think I cut the Nylaflow tube, welded the appropriate size deep socket on an 8" x1/2" pipe and slid that over the end of the Nylaflow ( socket end going down
into wheel assembly). I was luck and the socket went over
female and male fitting the first try, put a pipe wrench on the
pipe and removed both fittings and Nylaflow at once.
To install the SS tube I reversed the above procedure. Put
the nut on the tube flair the tube put the nut on the male
fitting fairly snug take your pipe with the socket on the end
slid it over the SS tube so the socket fits over female and
male fittings. Now take this hole mess ( pipe with socket
and fittings) and insert into wheel assembly screw in the
male fitting pull out the socket enough to turn the nut and
tighten that down. The hard work is done. Take the other
end of the SS tube( should be about 6" long) and run it up
the leg and out the top and finish it off. I used flex line to
the AL hard lines. No guarantees but it's simple to do and
replaces the Nylaflow with something more durable. Good
luck
