I fly day and night and have 100% confidence in my flap indicator system. To see it go to http://www.lancaironline.net/maillist.html, select the "Panels & Controls" button and view the Jensflap.JPG.
And in case I don't want to look over my left shoulder, 2 seconds gives me 10° of flap, 4 seconds gives me 20°, 2 more seconds for 35° and finally 2 more for 45°.
Why would anyone complicate and introduce the possibility of failure into an already perfect system?
