My IVP 550 starts surging at 11-12k feet and one surge is enough to remind
me. On landing, after a flight of several hours, the engine will die at
idle power on roll-out unless I leave the low boost pump on all the way to
the hanger. On the other hand, the engine continues to run at very low rpm
even though the mixture is at idle cutoff until I switch off the boost pump.
Is this a quirk, or common?
