Anyway, is anyone having any luck with an altitude
switch/light which acts as a reminder to turn the low boost pump on when
climbing above 10,000 feet and turn it off when decending below 10,000
feet?

Yes, I have had one installed for 4 yrs now. It works perfect, like it
reminds me to do the obvious. I installed it after climbing IFR and while on top
climbing through 17K the engine started to surge badly to the point where I had
to pull power back to about 15 in. Looked for a hole in the undercast and I was
looking for a place to land then I went over all engine gauges and discovered
the Low Boost wasn't on. That light has been invaluable since. I never
forget it now. I had Lancair Avionics install one. I think it was designed/made
by Brent Regan?
