found my vibration problem.   Now I'm trying to figure out why I'm 25 knots slower than the current fast-build product.  Test pilot thinks my leading edge results in non-laminar flow.

Sounds like you are ready for some tufting.  Lancair wings should demonstrate Laminar flow to around 2/3 of the way back. BUT, the bottom is also very important as the laminar flow can extend further back if the surface is smooth with no dents or rivet heads.  Hard to se the tufts on the bottom.
